Display material costs money. Stands, posters and chillers go out to shops with a plan for where they should sit and what they should show.
A month later, many of them look different. A stand moved to the back. A poster faded in the sun. A chiller filled with someone else’s product.
Placed, then kept
Placing a display is a single moment. Keeping it right is ongoing work. That is why each display item needs a place, a condition and a next step.
The shelf is where the buyer decides. It deserves the same attention as the order.
What a good shelf check records
- A photo per item, before and after the visit.
- Stock on the shelf, not just in the back room.
- A reason when an item is missing or damaged.
- A next step with an owner.
Is it a shelf gap or a delivery gap?
An empty facing can mean two very different things. Either the product never arrived, or it arrived and was not put out. Looking at the delivery record next to the shelf check tells you which, and who should fix it.
