Field Operations

Field sales route planning and visit management.

Know which shops were visited, where each check in was made and why a shop gave no order. Plan the work, track the visits, then review the day as it happened.

The problem

Nine orders came in. What happened at the other shops?

Every evening the same message reaches the sales manager: route done, orders booked. It says nothing about the shops that gave no order, or whether they were visited at all.

  • A skipped shop looks the same as a closed one.
  • Reasons arrive days later, from memory, if they arrive.
  • The Monday review starts from explanations instead of facts.

How it works

One booker. One route. Every visit on record.

Follow Imran Ali, order booker for Hilltop Traders, through a day on Route 7 in Model Town B.

  1. Step 1: Mark attendance

Before the first visit, Imran marks attendance on the map. The time and place are recorded, so the day starts on record.

  2. Step 2: Open today’s route

Route 7 opens with today’s assigned shops and their visit priorities. Pending and visited shops stay apart as the day moves.

  3. Step 3: Check in at the shop

At Madina General Store the check in records the visit place, the distance from the shop and whether it is within range. A visit off the plan is flagged for review.

  4. Step 4: Record the outcome

An order is booked, or the visit ends with no order and a reason: Shop closed, Stock available, Owner not present or Credit pending. Either way it counts as a visit.

  5. Step 5: Add a photo

A photo of the shop or the shelf is attached to the visit, so the manager sees the market, not only the numbers.

  6. Step 6: Review the day

By evening the sales manager sees Route 7 as it happened: the recorded path against the planned route, visits with an order and visits with a reason.

What is included

Everything a visit leaves behind. Planned, verified, explained.

Attendance

Bookers mark attendance with their location at the start of the day and check out at the end. Managers log their own field work, so it sits beside the team’s.

Route Planning

Route plans assign shops and visit priorities to each booker, across a shop universe organised by region, area, territory and distributor.

  • Move a route to another booker, with a record
  • Assigned, visited and buying shops kept apart

Geo-verified Visits

Every check in and check out records the visit place, the distance from the shop and whether it was within range.

  • Visits off the plan flagged for review

Non-productive Visit Reasons

A visit without an order is saved with its reason, such as Shop closed, Stock available, Owner not present or Credit pending. A closed shop, a full shelf and a skipped shop never look the same.

Photographic Evidence

Photos taken at the shop are attached to the visit record, so a review starts from what the booker saw.

Shop Concerns and Market Notes

Record shop concerns with a category and severity, market and competitor observations, and activity forms set up for your operation. Send updates back to the field through in app bulletins.

Manager Field Activities

The booker visits the shop. The manager works the market.

TSMs, ASMs and RSMs record their own field work in the Field Manager App, kept apart from the booker’s visits.

  • Joint Working

Select a booker and record the market work you do together.

  • Field Visit Assessments

Give each management visit a structured form and a record.

  • Retailer Audit Forms

Capture what you find at the shop on forms set up for your checklist.

  • Distributor Compliance

Assess distributor operations against your organization’s own checklist.

  • Market Intelligence

Record market and competitor observations while they are fresh.

  • Coverage Reviews

Record coverage findings and field conditions during market supervision.

Form questions, access and workflows depend on your organization’s setup.

Common questions

Questions buyers ask. Straight answers.

How does SELL 360 verify that a visit happened?

The booker checks in at the shop. The app records where the check in was made, how far that is from the shop and whether it was within range. Visits away from the plan are flagged for the manager to review.

Is a visit with no order still recorded?

Yes. The booker records the outcome, and a visit without an order is saved with its reason, such as Shop closed, Stock available, Owner not present or Credit pending. It counts as a visit, not as a missed shop.

Can routes be planned for each day?

Yes. Each booker’s route plan sets the assigned shops and visit priorities, so every territory has a plan to follow day by day. When people change, a route moves to another booker and the move stays on record.

Is the manager’s own field work recorded?

Yes. Managers log their own field activity, so it sits on record next to the visits of the bookers they lead. With the Field Manager App, TSMs, ASMs and RSMs can also record joint working, retailer assessments and distributor checks.
